Einstein's Alley - a regional organization promoting growth and innovation in central New Jersey - teams up with the Partnership for a New American Economy - a national bipartisan coalition of over 400 mayors and business leaders spearheaded by Mayor Michael Bloomberg - for a conference addressing how smarter immigration policies could spur job growth and strengthen American competitiveness.
The conference will include a welcome from Dr. Peter Goddard, Director of the Institute for Advanced Study, a keynote address by Darrell West from the Brookings Institution, where he is Vice President and Director, Governance Studies and Founding Director, Center for Technology Innovation as well as a nationally recognized expert on the economy and Immigration.
This will be followed by a panel of major academic and business leaders from Einstein's Alley organizations discussing the impact of immigration policy on their institutions and companies. The panel will be moderated by Peter Kann, former CEO of Dow Jones and Publisher of the Wall Street Journal. The session asks, "How does high-skilled immigration contribute to America's success and competitiveness?"
Discussion topics include:
- Green cards for graduates with advanced degrees in STEM fields
- Improving H-1B visa program and increasing cap to meet demand
- Creating a visa for entrepreneurs
